Monday

On Monday, the team welcomes a chef whose work and reputation has garnered one of his restaurants, Quay in Sydney, three Chef Hats for an unprecedented 18 years, Peter Gilmore. Peter is one of Australia’s most awarded chefs, and with a reputation for embracing small and artisan producers, has developed a cuisine that he dubs is inspired by nature. One of his most famous creations, the Snow Egg has appeared alongside him on Masterchef as a guest chef and judge. Peter will share about how he has managed to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of food, and stayed at the top of game for almost two decades.

Tuesday

On Tuesday, Dublin-born Colin Fassnidge will sharing how he has turned the pandemic situation into an opportunity to help his community learn cooking online. His two restaurants, Four in Hand, and 4Fourteen, are perfect examples of the style and passion that Colin has for cooking. Known especially for his emphasis on fresh, seasonal produce and nose-to-tail eating, Colin has reimagined, reinvented, and reinvigorated venues, menus, and more. His outlook and opinions also led him to Channel 7’s ‘My Kitchen Rules’ where he appeared as a blind tasting panel expert and judge over 7 seasons.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, former Masterchef crowd favourite, and TV and radio host Alice Zaslavsky joins the Café. Alice is known as a champion food judge, critic, writer, food literacy advocate, and of course, her love of spectacles! She is the resident Culinary Correspondent on ABC News Breakfast, has hosted a number of childrens’ shows including Kitchen Whiz and Crunch Time, and her latest cookbook became a bestseller before it even hit the shelves. Phew! Alice will be discussing food from A to Z, and to help us join the dots between cuisine, culture, and our environment.

Thursday

On Thursday, one of Australia’s most popular foodies, Manu Feildel will be sharing everything about what it’s like to be one of the most recognized faces in Australian TV food! Manu is best known for being co-host on ‘My Kitchen Rules’ across its 10-season run, and he’s set to grace our screens again soon in a new show called ‘Plate of Origin’. Manu is also a highly acclaimed chef off-screen, having been Executive Chef in several popular Sydney restaurants, and his own Chef Hat-awarded restaurant L’etoile, and has 4 cookbooks.

Friday

On Friday, the Café rounds out the week with current Masterchef judge Jock Zonfrillo. Jock is a Scottish-born chef, who got his start with the famous Marco Pierre White before travelling to Australia. He worked at Restaurant Forty-One in Sydney, before moving to Adelaide and opening both Restaurant Orana and his not-for-profit, the Orana Foundation. This season, he joined the Masterchef family, and he is currently working on Masterchef Junior.
