Whilst we’re starting to see some welcome easing of restrictions across the country, the reality is that the daily isolation of working from home will continue for many of us for the foreseeable future. The morning routine, our daily rituals that we’ve come to rely on to steel us for the workday ahead, steaming coffee in hand, seem a thing of the past!

And if you’re like us, we’re really missing them!

Well thanks to Luke Cook, founder of Funlocka, and Gus Worland’s mental fitness foundation Gotcha4Life, the Cuppa of Life virtual café is giving us our new morning ritual. Every morning at 8:30 am the café opens its doors to give all of us the chance to have a cuppa with some amazing and well-loved Australians.

Luke has already been joined in the café by many guests including world surfing icon Layne Beachley, entrepreneur Janine Allis, and Commando Steve. According to Cook, “Our plan is to find talent that want to make a difference and help people get through this challenging time by sharing stories and ideas to motivate and inspire”.

This weeks line up features, Jude Bolton, TV vet Katrina Warren and former Australian Diamond turned TV personality Bianca Chatfield. Every guest has an open chat with host Cook and will share stories, their isolation experiences and challenges, along with some practical tips. But ultimately, the idea is to relax and have some fun.

Access to the café is free and by registration. Once in, you have the option to donate to the Gotcha 4 Life foundation via a virtual menu. All of the proceeds will help Gotcha4Life in their quest to raise awareness and fund programs to build the mental fitness of all Australians.

“In this difficult and unprecedented time, it’s ok not to be ok and to bumble your way through.” says Worland. “But I truly know in my heart, that connection with our loved ones, family, friends and community will get us through. Which is why the ‘FUNLOCKA’ ‘Cuppa Of Life’ initiative is so important, to remind each other we’re not alone and that a conversation can change your life.”

The virtual café has achieved a lot since inception with 25 guests over 5 weeks, 1,800 virtual seats, 240 donations and $3,300 raised for Gotcha4Life.
