A special week is coming up in the Cuppa Of Life virtual café. From Monday 6th to Thursday 9th July, social purpose organization UnLtd is joining the café with four of their charity partners. Hear from the inspirational founders of these charities, who are changing the lives of thousands of young people at risk across Australia, and do your part to help them too.

On Monday, meet Bernie Shakeshaft, the founder of BackTrack Youth Works Program, and the Australian Local Hero of the Year for 2020. For the past 25 years, starting with a shed and an idea, Bernie founded the BackTrack Youth Works Program, turning around the lives of some of Australia’s most vulnerable kids. He and his extraordinary team have helped more than 1,000 children offering them love and support to live out their hopes and dreams.

On Tuesday, founder of Heart On My Sleeve, Mitch Wallis, will be sharing his story. After sharing a video on Facebook, describing his immense battles with mental health and the conflict he felt between living the “perfect” outside life on social media, his video reached over 1 million people and started a global movement he decided to call, Heart On My Sleeve, where people all around the world began drawing and tattooing hearts on their arm and sharing their story.

On Wednesday, come along to hear from Bronwyn Sheehan, the founder of the Pyjama Foundation. After meeting a baby in foster care covered in bruises, Bronwyn realised that without the support and education, many children in care will not have equal life opportunities so the Pyjama Foundation was created to provide children in foster care the opportunity to change the direction of their lives with learning, life skills and confidence.

On Thursday, co-founder and managing director of MMAD (Musicians Making A Difference), Dominic Brook will join the café to talk about how music can change the lives of disadvantaged youths. MMAD is a charity that exists to change young lives through music. They use the power of music, dance & mentoring to inspire young people to make their lives remarkable.

They provide creative support, especially those who have suffered childhood abuse, neglect and disadvantage, in overcoming challenges such as homelessness, destructive patterns of behaviour, exclusion from school, family breakdown, drug and alcohol dependency, unemployment and reoffending.

As for Friday, we are told a pretty amazing announcement is coming so we’ll stay tuned for that!
