Founded in 1995, Evanescence is an American rock band featuring much-loved frontwoman Amy Lee. Their style is widely known to be gothic rock, drawing influence from Nirvana, Joan Jett, Nine Inch Nails and Pantera. Their now 20-year career has delivered four studio albums with a fifth set to be released in 2020. To date, the band has sold 25 million albums worldwide with numerous certifications and number one chart positions to boast about. 

Their first studio album Fallen, released in 2003, was met with critical acclaim and to this day is seen as their most successful body of work. Songs like ‘Bring Me To Life’, ‘My Immortal’ and ‘Going Under’ were all spawned from this album culminating in 17 million sales worldwide. Their second album The Open Door was released in 2006 and debuted at number one on four national charts. This was followed up by the third album in 2001 titled Evanescence which debuted number one on the Billboard 200. Their fourth and latest album Synthesis was released in 2017. 

Over the length of their career, Evanescence has been nominated for 62 awards and have won 22. Notable wins include New Group Artist of the Year at the 2003 Billboard Music Awards, Best New Artist at the 2004 Grammy Awards and Best Rock Artists at the 2004 World Music Awards.
