Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor was born on November 7 1996 in Auckland, New Zealand. Known on the stage as Lorde, the signer-songwriter has been in the public eye since 2009 when signed on with Universal Music Group (UMG).

Pure Heroine, her debut album, was released in 2013 and included hot hits Tennis Court, Royals and Team. Lorde has since released Melodrama (2017) and Solar Power (2021) as well as curating the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

Across her large array of nominations and awards, Lorde has won two Grammy awards and two Brit awards. She received a Golden Globe nomination for her single ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’ in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack.
