Grace Kathleen Elizabeth Shaw, commonly known as Mallrat, is a young Aussie singer and rapper making her way to the top of the music industry. Born and raised in Brisbane; the name ‘Mallrat’ is derived from popular 2012 track “Mallrats (La La La)” by American band the Orwells. She mentions her musical influences to be Grimes, Skrillex, Courtney Barnett and Allday.
The 22-year-old has released three EPs, Uninvited (2016), In the Sky (2018) and Driving Music (2019). In 2018, her tracks “Groceries” and “UFO” hit umber seven and 70 respectively on the Triple J Hottest 100. Backing it up in 2019, her songs “Charlie” and “Nobody’s Home” came in at number 3 and 59, respectively.
Mallrat has been recently nominated for two ARIA Music Awards for the 2020 ceremony. She is in line to win the award for Breakthrough Artist – Release and Song of the Year.

The Latest
At the beginning of October, Mallrat released her brand-new single “Rockstar” (see above). The dreamy single is everything we need at this point in 2020. Despite her new song, Mallrat has been giving us behind the scenes social content and cute everyday life photos. Mallrat also announced her 2021 tour earlier this year.
