For the past 17 years, Byron Bays own Parkway Drive has been slaying the metalcore scene. Forming back in the summer of 2003 with vocalist Winston McCall, guitarists Luke Kilpatrick and Jeff Ling, drummer Ben Gordon, and bassist Jia O’Connor the boys named the band from their own street where they rehearsed and played at ‘The Parkway House’.

The band blew up with their chart-topping album Horizons back in 2007 hitting the international market before the arrival of Deep Blue in 2010. In 2015, Ire was released which saw the band introducing clean singing and more melodic tunes. From there, Parkway Drive continued to alter their sound while releasing new music and touring all over the world playing huge shows and headlining festivals such as Good Things, With Full Force Festival, Jera On Air Festival, Resurrection Festival, Wacken Open Air, Bloodstock Festival and Summer Breeze Festival.

The band have since released their own movie documentary Viva the Underdogs giving us over a decade’s worth of behind the scenes personal footage and unprecedented access to their incendiary live shows and festival appearances, Viva The Underdogs offers a candid look at Parkway Drive’s journey from small town surf-rats to international headliners on the world’s biggest metal music festivals.
