The McClymonts are three sisters, Brooke, Sam & Mollie McClymont from Grafton NSW. Brooke started singing at the age of 11 and Sam & Mollie followed soon after. They did a lot of travelling to country music festivals throughout their teens and it was during the long car trips that they learnt to sing in three-part harmony. Their favourite artists at the time included vocal groups such as The Judds and Fleetwood Mac. They were signed to Universal Music in 2006 and have gone on to be Australia’s most celebrated country music group.

They released their self-titled debut EP in July 2006 and spent the next eighteen months as the support for Lee Kernaghan on his huge “The Outback to the Beaches Tour”, wowing audiences across Australia with their incredible harmonies and infectious energy. They followed up on this momentum with the release of their debut album ‘Chaos & Bright Lights’ in 2007 which achieved gold sales and saw them head out on their first headlining tour.

The McClymonts have enjoyed incredible success with over 250,000 album sales including one Platinum and two Gold album accreditations. They have received thirteen Golden Guitar Awards, two ARIA Awards and an APRA Award along with being awarded the US Country Music Association Global Artist of the Year.

Brooke released two singles as a solo singer-songwriter before teaming up with Sam & Mollie to launch The McClymonts. Her lead single “I Can’t Wait” went on to be recorded by Hillary Duff for the Lizzie McGuire Movie.

The girls achieved some major breakthroughs into the U.S throughout 2010-2012 with ‘Chaos & Bright Lights’ charting on the Billboard Top 100 Country Album chart.

We asked the sisters about their favourite songs:

“I Got This” was written as an uplifting anthem about motherhood but has taken on a life of its own for anyone dealing with adversity. Whatever the challenge is, you just need to tell yourself “you can do it” every now and then.

Free Fall” – We are all happily married and so there’s always going to be a love song when we write as that’s what we all have in common. There is no better feeling than all-encompassing love. “Free Fall’ is about diving in the deep end and letting yourself be wrapped up in the moment.

Little Lies” – We love to include a cover in our live show but had never recorded one on our albums. “Little Lies” got a huge reaction when we played it at shows, and it fit so well with the other songs we were writing that we decided to include it on the album.
