Born in Brisbane, Thelma Plum is an is an Aboriginal Australian singer-songwriter-guitarist and rising star on the scene. It was in 2012 when we were first introduced to Plum. She uploaded her songs ‘Father Said’ and ‘Blackbird’ onto Triple J Unearthed and eventually won the inaugural Triple J National Indigenous Unearthed Music competition. ‘Father Said’ was eventually released as her official debut single in November 2012, this was followed by her debut EP Rosie in March 2013. Not stopping there, Plum then released her second EP titled Monsters in July 2014 while appearing at Womadelaide that same year.
Thelma Plum’s debut studio album, Better in Blak was released in July 2019 with a series of accolades and awards to follow. At the ARIA Music Awards in 2019 she was nominated for six awards and won Best Cover Art. The video clip for ‘Better in Blak’ was recognised for Film Clip of the Year at the National Indigenous Music Awards and in January 2020, ‘Better in Blak’ ranked No. 9 on the Triple J Hottest 100 which earned her the title of the highest-ranking Indigenous artist ever. 2020 continued to deliver with two nominations at the APRA Awards for Song of the Year and Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year.

Plum has most recently been seen performing at the 2020 AFL Grand Final. She also has a couple of intimate shows lined up as part of the Great Southern Nights concert series.
