You wouldn’t call Travis Collins an overnight success, but with over two decades of hard work and experience under his belt he has established himself as one of Australian country music’s biggest stars.

A story that began with Travis busking on Peel Street in Tamworth over 20 years ago, has led him on an incredible path to the powerful inspiring artist we know today. To see Travis Collins perform is an experience in itself, the energy he creates with his powerhouse vocals and blistering guitar solos, combined with his honest raw and pure song writing consistently leaves you wanting more.

Its these gifts that have led to Travis taking home 7 x Golden Guitar awards, 4 x CMC awards and in 2019 the “Global Artist Award” from the CMA – Country Music Association. In 2019, Travis opened for Luke Combs and Tim McGraw, and joined Eric Paslay, Raelynn, Jess Moskaluke, Lacy Cavalier and Sinead Burgess for the first ever CMA Songwriters Series in Australia performed at C2C Australia.

With 7 studio albums under his belt, including “Hard Light” (2016) & “Brave & The Broken” (2018), both which topped the ARIA charts, Travis is currently working on new music with GRAMMY winning Nashville based producer Luke Wooten, there is no set date for the new album, but Travis blessed us with the song “Rainy Day” a haunting ballad that pulls at the heartstrings, showcasing Travis’ unique song writing skills yet again.

You can check out “Rainy Day” wherever you buy/stream music. You can also catch Travis performing LIVE every Friday night on his Facebook page. Travis recently caught up with Insider for our Quaran-TEN series:

1. Get up and get dressed or PJs all day?

Unless it’s an actual ‘day off’, I’m definitely get up and dressed – it’s the first positive step to a productive day.

2. Go to Iso-snack?

Coffee and chocolate.. I’m still surrounded by easter eggs – my wife goes overboard at easter, we have chocolate for months.

3. Go to Quarantine cocktail?

Not much of a cocktail guy, but enjoy a couple of beers at sunset, or whiskey a little later in the night

4. Ordering in or cooking ?

Aaahh, I feel I have the best of both worlds here. I’ve recently got on the ‘Hello Fresh’ train.. They deliver the recipes and all ingredients, and you cook it yourself.. it’s great, healthy, and I’m learning quite a bit.

5. Last TV show you binged ?

Money Heist. What a great show. Check it out – after a few episodes you won’t even notice the lip syncing/overdubs.

6. Last music live-stream you watched ?

Can’t recall – I’m seeing so many. Have loved seeing the music business ‘step up’ to the challenges of isolation.

7. Most entertaining celeb to follow on socials ?

A couple fav’s I’ve discovered during Covid19 are ‘Sooshi Mango’ and ‘Nats What I Reckon’. Comedian Troy Kinne is a good follow too – I’ve been following him for a while.

8. Last gig you went to before lockdown?

My own – This year was chock-a-block full of tour dates. Last gig I attended that wasn’t mine was The Bushwhackers, at The Longyard Hotel (Tamworth) on Australia Day. Beat that!

9. First artist you want to see when lockdown ends ?

Would love to see festivals re-emerge strongly and would encourage EVERYONE to get behind live music events.

10. The biggest lesson quarantine has taught you ?

There is nothing wrong with being still. My circle has some incredible humans in it and fundamentally, I actually already have everything I fill my time pursuing.
