Shannah Kennedy built her career working with the best of the best, in sports management and sponsorship with elite and Olympic athletes. When she hit burnout, she was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and on her path to recovery, she enlisted the help of a life coach. The change was so phenomenal in Shannah’s life, that she made the switch, and studied to become a life coach herself. Now known as one of Australia’s best coaches, with over 20 years’ experience in the industry, we asked Shannah just how the work she does has changed her life.
Q: From the turning point that led you to the path you’re now on, how is your life now different?
A: My life is now by design and my drive for achievement is now coupled with fulfilment. I now work to live a life of authenticity and help others to create their road map that supports their dream and vision for the life they want. I now know the importance of self-care for longevity in life, career and family happiness. I now live out my own life plan, keep my eyes on my own plate and protect the asset which is my own life, health, family and career.
Q: Why do you feel it is important to share your philosophy/program with the community?
A: I think everyone could take a moment to pause, to check in with themselves, where they are at and find clarity on where they want to be. It is important to build your own unique recipe and structure for your life that makes you feel alive, in control and fuels your confidence and joy for life. Understanding your values, vision, habits and plans for the future allow you to live with clarity, purpose and direction. Taking the time to develop some solid routines and rituals to support your mental health and wellbeing is now imperative. In this time of great uncertainty, we are being pulled in different directions and can struggle to cope with the pressures we are put under by external factors and congested most importantly by ourselves, so it is time to get back to the basics.
