Guns N’ Roses are set to release a children’s picture book based on their much-loved anthem Sweet Child O’Mine.
Celebrating how love and music bring us together in the sweetest ways, SWEET CHILD O’ MINE, The Adventures of Maya & Natalia Rose is a collaboration between the band, author and long-time Guns N’ Roses fan James Patterson, and illustrator Jennifer Zivion.
Zivion has completed the beautiful cover illustration of a young girl holding hands with a man who carries a guitar across his back. The storyline follows the song’s lyrics, highlighting how music is everywhere in nature, from blue skies to crashing thunder.
The book’s protagonists Maya and Natalia Rose are inspired by the niece and daughter of Guns N’ Roses’ long-time manager Fernando Lebeis. Lebeis says he has been very lucky to watch the girls grow up while touring with the band.
Giving a new meaning to the beloved lyrics from Sweet Child O’Mine, James Patterson says the 40-page picture book “is a story that I know kids will love reading and that parents will love singing along to.”
If the story is anything like the wonderful music Guns N’ Roses create, we know it’s going to be a hit. We look forward to adventuring through the story with Maya and Natalia.
