With the 11th season of the KFC Big Bash League coming to a close, we thought we would have a look back on the huge season that it has been. It has provided no shortage of entertainment, with 18,043 runs made, 727 wickets taken and 643 maximums hit.

BBL|11 Finals: Must-See Moments

BBL|11 Finals saw plenty of ‘must-see moments’ and we can’t wait to see who takes out the title this year. Both the Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers sit tied on three titles, with the winner to be the first KFC BBL team to reach four titles. Will Moises Henriques and a returning Nathan Lyon claim a three-peat of championships? Or, will Jhye Richardson, Mitch Marsh and The Scorchers continue their stellar form this season?

Last time they met

A blistering 120-run opening partnership from Josh Inglis and Kurtis Patterson set the match up for the Perth Scorchers before their all-star bowling line-up did the job with Jhye Richardson and Ashton Agar outstanding in the 49-run win.

Sixers sneak past Strikers to continue their run at the three-peat

An instant classic! The Adelaide Strikers’ win streak was stopped at six in dramatic fashion as Sydney Sixers makeshift opener Hayden Kerr – who had a previous high score of 22 and is the Sixers’ top wicket-taker this season – smashed an incredible unbeaten 98 after Sean Abbott kick-started the run chase to steal victory on the final ball.

With the BBL|11 season about to end, we couldn’t go past the players that made their mark this summer.

Golden Arm

The player with the highest wickets taken over the entire season is awarded the Golden Arm. This season saw public favourite, Peter Siddle take the gold cap, along with his 29 wickets.

Golden Bat

Similar to the Golden Arm, the Golden Bat is awarded to the player with the highest aggregate runs over the entire season. Hobart Hurricanes opening batter – Ben McDermott takes out the Golden Bat for BBL|11 with 577 runs.

Glenn Maxwell – 154 not out

On his 100th game in the league, Melbourne Stars captain Glenn Maxwell made a new record for highest amount of runs in the BBL. The record breaking innings saw Maxwell hit 154 of 64 balls, including 22 fours and 4 sixes.

We can’t wait to see who takes out the BBL|11 Final this Friday. Be sure to rally your mates and see the action live!
