Singer, songwriter and now poet, Lana Del Rey proves she can do it all. Since announcing plans to write a book about poetry back in December 2019, Lana has delighted fans by releasing a new collection of poetry titled Violet Bent Backward Over the Grass. The audiobook version is out now and features readings by Lana herself and music by Jack Antonoff. The physical and e-book versions will be released September 29.

The proceeds from this project will go toward Native American organisations around America to help with the preservation of land and rights. She singled out the Navajo Water Project to help and share their fundraising target of $1,035,000 and hopes to help them reach their goal.

The Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass audiobook features Lana reading fourteen select poems. She has explained that her poems “are eclectic and honest and not trying to be anything other than what they are and for that reason, I’m proud of them, especially because the spirit in which they were written was very authentic.”

Fans will be excited to know that she also has plans to work on a second book of poetry. Back in May she also announced a new album that is reportedly set for release on September 5.
