We caught up with three members of the TEG family to find out what their favourite concert of all time is:

KYLIE JEFFREY

What was your favourite concert you attended?

There have been many incredible concerts over the years, but the most memorable and magical was Prince’s Diamonds and Pearls tour.

When and Where was it? Who did you attend with?

Went to one of six shows at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in April/May 1992 with my cousin.

What made it so memorable?

It was my first large scale concert in a major arena and with my favourite artist at the time. We had amazing tickets that were very close to Prince who was mesmerising to watch – his energy, his showmanship, he just drew you into his world. I’d never seen a production on that scale before. His band, and stunning dancers were incredible, and it was a chance to hear those incredible songs live. I’ll never forget it.

Kylie Jeffrey is the National Tours Manger for Ticketek Australia.

EDWINA TARRANT

What was your favourite concert you attended?

Prince’s Piano and A Microphone, presented by TEG Dainty.

When and Where was it? Who did you attend with?

Feb 15, 2016. State Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne. I attended with a work friend, Michelle – also a Prince fan.

What made it so memorable?

I’ve seen Prince a number of times, always with a full production – which is amazing. This show was in an intimate theatre venue, with literally just Prince, a piano and a microphone. You think of Prince as a great entertainer, guitarist/musician, dancer – but this unique performance reminded you what an INCREDIBLE vocalist he is. It was also a very emotional show, with him being advised of the passing of his friend, Vanity, just that day. It was a real moment in time… so moving. I spent most of the performance trying not to cry my eyes out!

What live entertainment events are you looking forward to going to when life restrictions are lifted?

Anything and everything! From pub gigs to stadium shows and festivals! From shows being rescheduled, I’m looking forward to seeing Lenny Kravitz and Iron Maiden.

Edwina Tarant is the Marketing Director at Twenty3 sports + entertainment.

TIM MCGREGOR

What was your favourite concert you attended?

There are so many, but I will go with Glastonbury in 2000.

When and Where was it? Who did you attend with?

I went with 10 colleagues from The Falls Festival (Tim co-founded The Falls Festival in 1993)

What made it so memorable?

We hired 4 camper vans and 10 two-way radios and managed to trick the security and production personnel to believe we were the Council-appointed undercover noise monitoring team. Watching Leftfield from the front of house tower on the Saturday was only topped by being side of stage for David Bowie closing on Sunday night!

What live entertainment events are you looking forward to going to when life restrictions are lifted?

I’m really looking forward to seeing some of the best of Australian live music. Live Music has the power to unify people and raise spirits – it is vital we support our homegrown acts and in turn the wider Australian music community when restrictions are lifted.

Tim McGregor is the managing director of TEG Live with over 23 years experience in the live entertainment industry.
