One of Australia’s favourite rockers, Shannon Noll is set to take the stage again as part of the Sunset Sounds festival. Shannon’s incredible career would make any mum proud and we caught up with Shannon to find out a bit more about what Mother’s Day and his mum means to him.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt from your mum? get to join you on tour?

The most important lesson my mother taught me was to treat people how you want to be treated and to always show respect! 

What family traditions to do you have, or hope to create?

Family traditions we have is we always try to have a family dinner every night and most importantly on a Sunday evening.

What’s one of your most memorable moments with your mum?

I remember my Mum at the final of OZ idol, it meant so much to me to have her there as I’d lost my Dad who was taken from us before it! She looked so proud.

What’s your favourite Mother’s Day memory (as a mum/with mum)?

We always tried to have Mother’s Day together with my Grand mum and Nana when we could and it was so wonderful to have everyone together on Mother’s Day.

What’s your favourite Mother’s Day memory (as a mum/with mum)?

Our mum has a great sense of humour, so she is always up for a joke or a laugh and we had plenty growing up on the farm together! 

What have you tried to take from your own mother in terms of parenting?

I always ask Mum about things to do with parenting and sometimes get her to talk to my children if needs be when they have questions that are a little hard to answer! 

If you could describe mum in one word, what would it be?

Selfless.

What are the values your mum instilled in you that you are grateful for today?

Mum always taught us to treat women with the utmost respect and to always protect them if needed and to respect myself as well!

Do you and your mum have a favourite song you belt out to? If so, what is the song?

Mum’s always loved my brothers and my music, so we’ve sang a lot of songs together over the years! 

Can you remember trying to impress your mum when you were younger?

I was always trying to impress Mum. I think it comes from being the youngest of three boys!
