‘At netball we wear pink’ Adelaide Thunderbirds

Hope, resilience, and success. No three words better sum up the birds of the south. With the range of experience in their playing squad, it is an exciting time to be an Adelaide fan.

If you’re an Adelaide fan, you no doubt live for the unexpected – whether that be an explosive Shamera Sterling intercept or long-range bomb from Georgie Horjus. Look out for new addition, Tippah Dwan. Whispers say she could be your game-changer.

Side by Side in Black and White – Collingwood Magpies

Don’t be fooled by the Magpies’ colour scheme, this side plays with electricity and colour to liven up any game. These reigning Suncorp Team Girls Cup champions can take great confidence into 2022.

For all the Pies fans out there, we know you like things to stay the same, with this year’s squad relatively untouched. But don’t fear change… especially when it’s in the form goaling dynamite Sophie Garbin. Don’t worry, Geva Mentor’s not going anywhere this year.

United in Orange – GIANTS Netball

Much like head coach Julie Fitzgerald, if you’re donning the GIANTS’ orange, you’re a believer in your roots and take pride in where you come from.

With plenty of home-grown talent, GIANTS enter the pre-season with vengeance. This will mark the start of a 2022 campaign to redeem themselves after last year’s grand final loss. They have a great mix of experience and young talent across board, in particular with the emergence of Sophie Dwyer in goals.

Fearless in Navy Melbourne Vixens

What makes a Vixen? No one stands in their way, they are stronger together, you can hear them a mile away.

The Vixens will welcome back their superstar midcourter Liz Watson this Suncorp Team Girls Cup. She’ll be feeding a new look shooting circle, with elevated training partner Rahni Samason joining fan favourite Mwai Kumwenda. And of course, Queen Kate Moloney will be back with her huddle pep talks.

Purple Family Queensland Firebirds

For the Firebirds, netball represents more than sport. Netball is life, netball is everything. The Queensland Firebirds represent a long and proud history of passion, resilience, champions, heroes, and friends.

Pre-season will showcase new captaincy duo, Kim Ravaillion and Lara Dunkley, as well a new-look defensive end in England Roses defender Eboni Usoro-Brown and elevated training partner Ruby Bakewell-Doran

I See Red, I See Red NSW Swifts

If you’re a ‘Swifty’, we already know you have high expectations and like to win, but only if there’s fun to be had along the way too. This year’s playing group are more than ready for what lies ahead after earning premiership status in 2021.

This club is known for their vocal fans, who really can come up with any chant to cheer on their team. We know you like reliability like Maddy Proud, Paige Hadley, Sarah Klau and Maddy Turner, but make room for new loves like Allie Smith.

Struck by Gold Sunshine Coast Lightning

First and foremost, Lightning is all about their local community, and we know this will be at the forefront of their mind heading into 2022. Like the team themself, Lightning fans are never to be counted out and can deliver what is needed without having to be asked.

Don’t worry if you’re new, most of Lightning’s team at Suncorp Team Girls Cup will be too. New defensive recruits Kadie-Ann Dehaney and Tara Hinchliffe will test their new colours, alongside rookies Annie Miller and Reilley Batcheldor.

Green Army West Coast Fever

The Green Army of the west proudly boasts the values of being united, professional, innovative and courageous… and so do their fans.

The Suncorp Team Girls Cup will be the first we see of new coach Dan Ryan, however a well-established team is sure to support him. The formidable Jhaniele Fowler, Verity Charles and captain Courtney Bruce will be keen to hit the court again.
