The Reservoir Room 

Multi-award-winning Australian entertainer CATHERINE ALCORN has not been idle during the COVID-19 isolation period having joined forces with Sydney TV/Film producer BRIAN COBB. Catherine Alcorn, together with three-time Gold Logie nominee, RODGER CORSER have hosted Australia’s newest virtual venue The Reservoir Room. 

The Reservoir Room has live-streamed the nation’s most loved entertainers and fresh faces from theater, live music, cabaret and drag directly to homes via a digital platform every Friday and Saturday night. 

We take a look back at The Reservoir Room performances in preparation for this weekend’s final performances. 

Friday Night Live 

Throughout June, Catherine Alcorn and Rodger Corser have hosted a brand-new weekly variety show, FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE showcasing various acts and artists within our industry. Using a four-camera set up The Reservoir Room ensured the highest production was delivered to homes via its own digital platform. Cath and Rodger were joined by the nation’s most loved entertainers and fresh faces from theatre, live music, cabaret and drag. 

Tim Draxl: The Chet Baker Journey 

Chet Baker was the prototype of 20th-century cool. His movie-star looks, honeyed vocals and effortless trumpet style earned the respect of the jazz elite; his well-known struggle with drugs brought it all crashing down. Audiences took a trip through the life and songs of celebrated jazz legend Chet Baker with a haunting and magnetic show starring acclaimed singer-actor Tim Draxl. 

Phil Jamieson 

Phil Jamieson, Grinspoon’s enigmatic front man brought his acute lyrical observations and self depricating sense of humour to a series of solo acoustic shows. Jamieson performed solo versions of Grinners classic songs, his own solo work and a few ring – in tunes.  

Ursula Yovich 

Three-time Helpmann Award winner, Ursula Yovich brought her soul, blues and adult contemporary fusion to The Reservoir Room for an amazing Saturday Cabaret! 

iOTA 

From flame-throwing guitarist in Mad Max Fury Road, a finalist in Eurovision Australia Decides to The Great Gatsby, iOTA is a multi-faceted performer that captivates any audience he comes into contact with. When asked about his performance at The Reservoir Room, iOTA responded, “I’m going back to my roots … back 20 years to another life when I was a singer/songwriter/musician … when I released albums and my music was played on Triple J.. touring up and down the East coast in my manager’s car. Me, her, my guitar and a bag of candles to dress the stage. I’m going back to the days when I first became iOTA.”  

Mark Trevorrow 

Mark Trevorrow is the man behind BOB DOWNE, the Prince of Polyester and one of Australia’s most loved and enduring comedy characters. Mark brought the stage to life during his performance at The Reservoir Room on a late Saturday night. 

Matt Copley and Friends 

Matt Copley was accompanied by an impressive array of guests during his Saturday Live Music set at The Reservoir Room. Friends included, Alfie Arcuri (VOICE Winner 2018), David Berry (OUTLANDER Actor), sister2sister (Sharon and Christine Muscat), Mia Morrissey (Actor/Singer) and Cameron Gullo (Guitarist). 

Phil Scott and Friends 

Actor, pianist and entertainer Phil Scott brought all his friends to The Reservoir Room for a Saturday night full of fun, songs, jazz and a little bit of silliness. His mega talented friends include, Jonathan Biggins, Drew Forsythe, Mandy Bishop, Catherine Alcorn, Craig Scott, and James Sarno. 

James Sarno Quintet 

The James Sarno Quintet stormed The Reservoir Room stage, performing swinging jazz standards and featured guest performances from an array of illustrious Australian singers, such as Erika Heynatz, Reuben Kaye, Clare Ellen O’Connor, and Prinnie Stevens.

Together At Last!…Apart 

Multi award-winning artist and host of The Reservoir Room’s Friday Night Live, Catherine Alcorn, will take to the stage this Saturday evening as not one, but TWO divas: herself and her most iconic role as The Divine Miss Bette!  

Hailed as a ‘must see!’ by the L.A. TIMES, the critically acclaimed chanteuse combines her soaring vocals and wickedly inviting sense of humour in a sizzling hour of cabaret performing material from all of her stage shows including Go Your Own Way: The Story of Christine McVieCathartic and The Divine Miss Bette.  

Rai Thistlethwayte – LIVE 

Saturday, 4th July  – 9:30pm 

Rai is one of Australia’s most respected musical talents: a highly accomplished pianist, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. Rai will take to The Reservoir Room stage delivering a performance showcasing his love of Jazz, Soul, and Groove music.
