As the winter months set in and temperatures plummet, the footy is heating up with AFL, NRL and Super Rugby starting to sizzle in one of the more extraordinary periods of Australian Sport ever witnessed. The contests are tough and uncompromising, the results, just as unpredictable in what shapes as a nightmare for all tipsters and indicative of even playing field that 2020 has thrown up.  

We also see the return of Netball with the West Coast Fever set to battle it out against the WA All Stars in what looms to be a very entertaining pre-season contest.  

Most importantly, the resumption of top-level Sport has also coincided with crowds starting to return to the stands and DON’T WE LOVE IT!    

2020 is certainly different, but what hasn’t changed is our love for Sport and the passion our great fans bring to the game. So, get your Sporting fix this weekend and get out to a venue near you to cheer on your team or just make a day of it with friends and family.

Sydney Cricket Ground 

Hub life becomes reality with the Geelong footy club playing host to the Brisbane Lions. Who would have thought we would ever see this play out? Aside from the unusual setting, the contest should be hot as 2nd plays 3rd in an all-important battle for ladder positioning. The NSW Waratahs return home to host the Western Force on Saturday night with the Tahs just being shaded for points in round-one against the QLD Reds.

Netstrata Jubilee Stadium  

The Sharks are set to proceedings at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium when they look to battle it out against 2nd placed Panthers this Saturday afternoon. Followed by an even encounter between the Dragons and Sea Eagles on Sunday to see the weekend out.

GIO Stadium  

Blockbuster footy returns to GIO Stadium when the Canberra Raiders welcome back fans and the Viking clap to visitors Melbourne Storm. These two teams fought out a memorable contest in last year’s Qualifying final and expect there will be no loved lost between these two teams with a top-four ladder position up for grabs.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs play host to the Wests Tigers in what should be a very entertaining spectacle for footy purists. With the likes of Lateral Mitchell, Alex Johnston, David Nofoaluma and Adam Doueihi set to take the field, this is one not to be missed!

It’s been a tough start to the season for the Broncos and Bulldogs, however both teams go into Saturday nights clash with hope of turning things around and claiming much needed premiership points. Footy on the Gold Coast strikes again with the Gold Coast Titans welcoming the NZ Warriors in what shapes as an intriguing contest. With the Warriors getting the chocolates with a comfortable win last week and the Titans usually very formidable at home, expect to see another tight encounter.
