As the old adage goes, a week is a long time in Sport. This could not be more correct with the weekend wash-up delivering some eye-catching results.

In the Rugby League, Manly upstaged ladder leaders the Parramatta Eels at home, the Wests Tigers showed what they’re capable of with a barnstorming nine-try display and the Raiders getting the points over last year’s premiers, the Sydney Roosters, in the Grand Final replay.

Moving onto Aussie rules, the Brisbane Lions continue to demonstrate their premiership credentials with a comfortable win over GWS, Richmond flexed their muscle over North Melbourne and the West Coast Eagles won their 10th straight Derby against cross-town rivals Fremantle to close out the weekend’s play.

Super Rugby saw a few hard-fought encounters with the QLD Reds defeating the Force and remaining top of the AU conference. Not to be upstaged, the Waratahs and Brumbies played out a thriller with the men from Canberra edging out their NSW rivals 24-23.

The chequered flag also dropped on Sydney Motorsport Park for the 2nd time in 2020, this time under lights with Shell V-Power Racing’s Scott McLaughlin further adding to his championship lead by taking out race 10.
