Tim Minchin is dropping a brand-new studio album this year. The eclectic Aussie star has announced Apart Together will drop on 20 November via BMG. Tim confirmed the album’s release on The Late Show with James Corden, followed by the drop of title track single Apart Together.

Apart Together is the album’s third single release, following Leaving LA and I’ll Take Lonely Tonight. “The weirdest thing about my career is that I’ve been writing songs since I was 12 years old and I’ve never made a studio album, but I finally got around to fixing it”, Minchin noted while speaking with The Music back in April.

“With this album, I haven’t really thought about it much at all, I’ve just gone, I’m gonna write what I wanna write. And what comes out tends to be, probably the thing I’m best at, which is treading the line between sentimentality and satire… You need to listen to every word. You’re not meant to let it wash over you. They are storytelling songs – they all tell a story.”

Tickets are available for Tim Minchin’s re-scheduled 2021 Australian tour in January and February.
