The team at Suncorp Stadium have asked their patrons to sound off on what their best Suncorp Performances have been. They received a HUGE response for footy players, Premiership victories and boxing matches, but mostly an OVERWHELMING response for concerts!

They have put together a list of these top concerts that we are now sharing with you! Is your favourite on the list?

10. André Rieu

While we don’t have much footage from the André Rieu concert in 2009, we did find this rendition of Advance Australia Fair with a children’s classic attached to the end!

Still one of the most talented performers to have graced the field at Suncorp Stadium, we would love to have him and the entire orchestra back again! Check out this second clip showing the scale of the world’s largest stage constructed for the ‘World Stadium’ tour.

9. Jay-Z

Jay-Z is one of the greatest rappers of all time with an empire, legacy and discography that remains popular through every new generation.

He toured with U2 in 2010, making it one of the most sought-after concert events in the Stadium’s history. It was an unmissable performance! Check out his Numb/Encore clip from the show, below.

8. Phil Collins

With a slew of hits spanning decades, the former Genesis member Phil Collins has been entertaining crowds all over the world with his much-loved music that we all love to sing along with.

He performed classics like “Invisible Touch” and “In the Air Tonight” during his Not Dead Yet 2019 Tour.  The crowds definitely got involved!

7. Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi is the definition of ‘performer’. Bon Jovi manages to get the entire Stadium singing along with his hits like “It’s My Life” during his “Because We Can Tour” in 2010. Not many can make an entire Stadium come alive like JBJ!

6. Paul McCartney

One of the Beatles at Suncorp Stadium? Yes, it happened!

Those who were lucky enough to get a ticket to see Sir Paul McCartney thought he was one of the best performances they had ever seen! Sir Paul McCartney performed at Suncorp Stadium as part of his One on One Tour in 2017.

Check out his version of “Get Back”, it will make you wish you were there!

5. U2

Seeing U2 in 2010 v 2019? I don’t think fans minded which performance they got to see, many even went to both.

The Joshua Tree World Tour stopped in at Suncorp Stadium in 2019 while the 2010 360 Degree Tour with Jay-Z had Brisbane lining up for a ticket.

Check out their intro with a hint of Bowie, before launching into their hit “Beautiful Day”.

4. Coldplay

Another Brisbane favourite, Coldplay have performed a few times in the River city now. Two Stadium concerts at Suncorp in 2012 and again in 2016 had the crowd going wild.

Check out the highlights from their 2012 Mylo Xyloto Tour:

3. Ed Sheeran

When Ed Sheeran stopped in at Suncorp Stadium for two nights in March 2018 for his ‘Divide’ tour, who knew he would have some an impact! It was just one man with a guitar and a beautiful voice.

One way to get the local crowd going is to bring up a local on stage. Checkout Missy Higgins singing Perfect with Ed Sheeran below!

2. Foo Fighters

Footy and Foo Fighters was a common response from a number of our patrons. I guess the sounds of this rock band strike a chord with the Stadium’s footy fans as they came in second on the list.

Whether it was the 2018 Concrete and Gold tour or the 2015 Sonic Highway Tour, Brisbane fans loved welcoming them. Check out the Foo Fighters playing “Everlong” in 2018.

1. Queen + Adam Lambert

The Suncorp Stadium patrons have spoken! The number one concert by a HUGE margin was Queen + Adam Lambert’s 2020 Rhapsody Tour. Even with torrential rain during the night, fans are still raving about it months later, it must have been one great concert!

The audience was treated to all of the hits, including “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” (from under an umbrella), “Radio Ga Ga” and special Led Zeppelin and Elvis covers.

One thing is for certain, whenever they’re ready to come back, they’ll be welcomed back with open arms!
