Tune in this Thursday 11 June for the premiere of the new online content series United We Stream Australia. Catering to the electronic music community, this event will showcase performances from different artists in different places, venues and clubs from around Australia.

With a strong presence already in the UK and Europe, this series is brought to you by the Electronic Music Conference (EMC) and Sounds Australia. The purpose of this initiative is to support artists, venues and collectives in the music industry that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kicking off performances this week is Australian/Iraqi producer Motez. Live from the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, Motez will be debuting his intimate ‘Soulitude’ EP which was created in response to the global mindset of isolation.

During these streams, you can donate an amount of your choice via the DONATE button. United We Stream Australia have outlined on their website where these funds will be distributed:

According to a spokesperson for United We Stream, “25% of funds raised goes to the venues/promoters pool. 25% goes of funds raised goes to the artists pool. 10% of the funds raised goes to the community radio pool. 10% of the funds raised goes to the independent online media pool. 10% of the funds raised is donated to Support Act. 10% of the funds raised goes to the copyright pool, for the copyright owners of the music played. A final 10% of the funds raised is an administration fee, required for the time to report to and pay out the funds raised and to the participating businesses and individuals.”

The live stream kicks off at 6pm AEST on Thursday 11 June on Facebook and YouTube.
